Super 8 by Wyndham North Bergen NJ/NYC Area

This place is older but very clean and the room smelled fresh and the bed sheets were crisp and we slept quite comfortably even though we were on the first floor next to the vending machines. The only difficult thing is the parking situation. If you get back to your room late you almost don't have anywhere to park. We came here to attend a concert or which we had purchased parking tickets so be had no difficulties in that regard. I will add that actually pulling into this location is challenging because it's located on a very steep uphill.

We made a roadtrip from New York to San Francisco and this was our first motel for 4 night during our first stop near New York. Very convenient to park our car in front of the room after we took it from the car rental center at JFK. Rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was simple but nothing to complain about. Shuttle busses will stop every 10 minutes in front of the hotel that will drop you off at Port Authority bus station. Be aware when you want to go back from Port Authority that you need to ask the bus driver that you want to go to the super 8 motel. Otherwise they will just continue driving further. You have to walk back to the motel for about 10 minutes cause it is only one way traffic next to the motel. We found it a weird bus/shuttle system but it did the job!

We had a clean room and an easy check in. The staff were polite as well. They answered all of our questions about the WiFi (which is not free for non members) and one staff member even came from the lobby to the second building, bundled up because of the cold. It was because we had a question regarding the keys. He was courteous and polite. We are so grateful that he came to help us without complaint because we were freezing outside without him! Also, the bus that only costs $4 to get to 8th Avenue and 42nd street is a really convenient aspect of choosing this budget friendly hotel. 10/10 would stay here again! Thank you!

This is my fourth time visiting New York, and this is by far the most practical hotel/motel I’ve stayed at. The accommodation is clean, there is parking, and breakfast is included in the price. A shuttle bus picks you up right in front of the lobby and takes you to Manhattan in about 10 minutes. The return trip drops you off very close to the motel. The ride costs $4 one way. Great experience — I’ll definitely be coming back!

It's important to understand that this isn't what you'd CONSIDER a "five star hotel", but I'm rating it based on what it is! I paid for a super8, and honestly it's one of the best I've stayed at. The BIGGEST thing is location, it's directly roadside so getting out can be a little rough, but it also has direct bus access to the city so that's also very helpful! If you DON'T like roadside noise /honking, this is Not for you, but as for someone who isn't bothered by it, accessibility due to the insane drivers is the only real deduct I have. The pricing is entirely reasonable for what I got, and I'm not disappointed at all! Editing to also note the staff was exceptional! Very kind and willing to work with you!

I saw comments complaining this hotel before checking in, I was also worried, but later found out it’s ok, as long as you only expect it as a budget motel not a five-star hotel. - free simple breakfast, only bread with jam or butter, drinks have coffee and juices. You don’t have to worry eats cuz IHOP, ALDI, STARBUCKS are within 5-10 mins walk. - Transport to NYC is easy, take the NJ bus $4.10 (Senior $1.80) or private shuttle $4. I recommend Bus 125 from NYC PABT and get off at 28 st JFK; and multiple NJ buses are going to NYC PABT from 30 st JFK. Both stops only 5 mins away on same side of the blvd. Free parking if you are driving. (Info from the hotel: Shuttle Service from Gate #51*at Port Authority. Get off near 31st Street & JFK Blvd, a 2-minute walk to the hotel. Shuttle runs 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM, $4 per person per way.) I took the Shuttle once to Times Square from the hotel, it’s fine, if you are travelling with a senior, taking NJ bus is cheaper. - Some complaining about the Indian staff, yes almost all staff in the front desk I saw are Indian. I particularly appreciate the young Indian lady at night, she was friendly and helpful in troubleshooting a phone call to NYC from our room. Other staff are also ok, just don’t expect them as concierge in a hotel, here is just a motel, get your business done and go. - I paid my room fee on Agoda. On arrival, I paid $100 deposit with credit card. There was no issues during check-in, with the older Indian woman staff. - room is dark, but hey you’re back to sleep not to spend a whole day here, the price is cheap compared to NYC so I’m ok with that. room size is reasonable. - microwave and fridge in room

We just stayed at the Super 8 for a quick birthday weekend to enjoy NYC! For the overall experience I give it a 5 and actually already recommended it to a friend! The location of this hotel to the city, taking the Patterson shuttle was quick, easy and very cheap! We never waited for the shuttle for more than 10 minutes! The room was clean and spacious enough for two people for 2 or 3 nights! Basic amenities you would find in a typical hotel room. The staff was extremely professional and friendly; check in and out was fast and easy.

did a small relaxing staycation here. very good location, Starbuck & Aldi are a 5min walk so thats convinient. the staff is friendly and attentive. the room is as expected; clean but simple. lots of lighting, lots of drawers and decent walking space. everything was very clean, the carpet was clean, the bed was clean. the bathroom was simple yet comfortable, the curved curtain rod was nice for the big bath tub, the shower head had good water preassure, all was clean. plus the doordash came straight to my room lol that was fun, they do provide room service tho. parking doesnt seem an issue, its bigger than it looks on the outside
